Apprentice Quantity Surveyor - Manchester

We’re looking for an Apprentice Quantity Surveyor to join our Rail team based in Salford, Greater Manchester working towards a Level 3 apprenticeship in Quantity Surveying.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading construction and infrastructureservices company on an apprenticeship. Whilst working towards a recognised qualification, you’ll be able to put your learnings into practice in your day-to-day role, helping you progress within your chosen career.


Location: Salford, Greater Manchester (with Travel to Wigan Depot)

Contract: Permanent, full-time

Salary: £19,200 per annum


How does an apprenticeship work?

As an Apprentice Quantity Surveyor, you’ll be enrolled onto a Level 3 apprenticeship in Quantity Surveying, giving you the opportunity to earn whilst you learn.

You’ll be working within the Kier Rail team, supporting a wide range of rail infrastructure projects for a diverse customer base. Our projects range from major improvements to complete construction of new stations, with specialist teams, we manage complex works from conception through to delivery.

Your day to day will include:

  • Working on procurement, and assisting with budgets needed to finalise agreements
  • Assisting the team with value and risk management
  • Supporting the commercial team with cost control, analysis and estimates


What are we looking for?

The role of Apprentice Quantity Surveyor is great for you if:

  • You can build and maintain strong relationships
  • Can work collaboratively within a team
  • Have experience in using various IT packages effectively

 Due to the nature of the role and projects, you must hold a full driving licence.
