Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Newcastle

We have a great opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join us in a role that will be aligned with a flagship leisure and events facility in the region.


Location: Newcastle

Contract: Full Time, Permanent


What will you be responsible for?

As Assistant Quantity Surveyor you will work as part of the team managing elements of the project ensuring commercial management of work packages to assist in the management and mitigation of cost and risk , to enhance value for money, while still achieving the required legal standards and quality under the specific agreed contract conditions.


What will your day to day look like? 

It will include but not be limited to:

  • Assistance in organising the division of projects into component work packages for procurement.
  • In conjunction with the SQS / MQS assessing returns from sub-contractors and awarding work packages.
  • Managing applications for payment from sub contractors
  • Preparation of applications for payment to clients.
  • Assisting in the preparation of final accounts


What are we looking for?

This role Assistant Quantity Surveyor is great for you if:

  • You hold a relevant academic qualification – Degree / HND or equivalent in Quantity Surveying
  • Have experience working on  high value construction projects
  • You can demonstrate Tier 1 Main Contracting Experience
