MANAGING QUANTITY SURVEYOR– AVRS

What you will be doing:

 

An opportunity has arisen for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join the team at AVRS, a Galliford Try business.

As a Managing Quantity Surveyor you will be required to develop setting and implementing commercial strategy from the outset and throughout the project.

 

  • A portfolio of projects in the Company’s water sector
  • Establishing and maintaining strong working relationship with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Managing and training of commercial staff
  • Instilling good practice on all projects and adherence to company processes and procedures.
  • Instigating and production of monthly CVR and presenting to the Commercial Manager
  • Instigating and production of cost/value forecasts.
  • Valuation and agreement of Compensation Events, variations and claims dependent on form of contract.
  • Maintaining notices are submitted timeously and in compliance with the contract.
  • Timely submission of monthly applications for payment.
  • Agreement of monthly payment with the Client.
  • Advising on forms of subcontract and supporting subcontract procurement.
  • Dispute avoidance or where disputes exist, managing the process and reaching agreement.
  • Cost control.
  • Contract and commercial appraisals for Tenders.
  • Conducting regular reviews and appraisals for the performance of those reporting to you.

 

About You:

  • Previous managing quantity surveying experience
  • To have thorough knowledge of and compliance with relevant engineering procedures and standards.
  • Degree qualified with suitable experience.
  • Have detailed knowledge of relevant specifications, legislations, standards, regulations, guides and best practice.
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills
  • Extensive knowledge of Construction Contracts (in particular NEC3 and IChemE)
  • Tendering experience.
