Gleeds Energy is recruiting for aspiring Commercial Managers to join our Nuclear New Build team in delivering projects on the construction of Britain’s newest nuclear power stations, Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C. These projects will play a crucial part to Britain’s Energy independence, economic growth, and our ongoing Energy transition to create more sustainable and environmentally friendly energy source.


The Assistant Commercial Manager is responsible providing support to the Commercial Management Team across multiple contracts whilst working closely with Senior’s and Lead’s in the team to ensure development and growth in your skills and experience.


Your day to day could look like –



  • Assessment and valuation of Contractor’s applications and the processing of payment certificates in accordance with the contractual terms and conditions.



  • Administration of Task Orders, Compensation Events and Early Warnings.



  • Monitor and report on commercial aspects of the contract and/or project flagging issues at the earliest opportunity to the Commercial Manager.



  • Administration of commercial management tools including, but not limited to, CEMAR and SAP.

About You




What we are looking for in our next Assistant Commercial Manager


Experience



  • Relevant work experience with ability to demonstrate a track record of successful contract administration/goods receipting.



  • Good working knowledge of contracts, basic estimating, valuations, cost reporting and financial modelling.



  • Knowledge or keen interest in the Energy sector would be desirable.


Qualifications 



  • Ideally you will have be HNC, HND or Degree qualified in a Quantity Surveying / Cost Management, Construction Law, or similar / relevant discipline, or in some case applicants with an alternative background (e.g.: Engineering) may be considered.



  • Professional qualifications and/or membership of the RICS, CIOB, CICES, CIPS or other relevant Chartered Institute are desirable, and will be supported if not already attained.
