Job Title: Chartered Quantity Surveyor

About the Role:
Our client, a renowned construction and development firm in the Maldives, is seeking an experienced Chartered Quantity Surveyor to manage high-value projects in the hospitality, residential, and villa construction sectors. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in cost estimation, risk assessment, contract management, and procurement strategies for projects exceeding 100 million USD.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities, in collaboration with architects and clients.
• Assist in establishing client requirements and conducting feasibility studies.
• Perform cost analysis for construction and maintenance projects.
• Implement risk management, value engineering, and cost control measures during different construction phases.
• Identify, analyze, and develop responses to commercial risks.
• Develop and lead procurement strategies while maintaining up-to-date procurement schedules.
• Ensure accurate and timely cost and value reporting at both project and business unit levels.
• Oversee cash flow reporting and ensure effective cost management, including forecasting.
• Update monthly Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) reports and oversee the commercial performance strategy.
• Provide expert advice on contractual terms and conditions.
• Assess completed work and prepare payment applications for submission to clients.
• Report project progress to senior management.
• Collaborate closely with contract and site management teams to ensure seamless operations.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying.
• Must be a Registered Chartered Quantity Surveyor.
• 8 - 15 years of experience in a Quantity Surveying role, with extensive knowledge of the construction industry.
• Proven experience handling projects valued at 100 million USD or more.
• Strong background in hospitality, residential, or villa construction projects.
• Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with accounting software.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Project, Revit, Navisworks, and CAD is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
