Hire Resolve is seeking a dedicated Civil Quantity Surveyor to join a reputable firm based in Pretoria. In this role, you will oversee various construction projects while ensuring that financial and contractual aspects are managed efficiently.
The ideal candidate will bring significant expertise in quantity surveying within the civil engineering sector and demonstrate a proactive approach to project management.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing detailed cost estimates and budgets for civil engineering projects
- Conducting thorough quantity take-offs and measurements
- Monitoring and managing project costs, ensuring reports on cost variations are accurate
- Drafting and analysing tender documents and scopes of work
- Negotiating contracts with subcontractors and suppliers
- Providing insights on contractual claims and final account settlements
- Ensuring adherence to industry regulations and standards throughout the project lifecycle
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in civil projects
- In-depth understanding of civil engineering construction processes and materials
- Proven ability to manage large civil projects.
- Proficiency in relevant quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and meet deadlines
- Familiarity with GCC and FIDIC contract forms is beneficial
