An exciting opportunity within the construction support industry for an energetic and eager Construction Support Manager (CSM) – Quantity Surveyor based in Cape Town.
Responsibilities:
• Monitoring the project to ensure it is managed in terms of the contract
• Ensuring that the Irrevocable Payment Undertaking is signed by the Nominated person of the Employer
• Checking that the project is run within the allocated budget
• Ensuring that drawdowns and materials issued are in accordance with the budget
• Ensuring that only duly signed payment certificates are processed and paid
• Ensuring that the final account quantities are correct
• Co - Authorise the release of funds
• Monitoring and updating cash flows
• Implementation of action plans
• Compiling the ACB from authorised quotations
• Attending site meetings
• Advising clients on contractual obligations
• Advising contractors on the terms of breaching the contract
• Advising on site management
• Advising on material management
• Taking appropriate action if advise is not heeded which increases risks
• Ensuring that the contractor applies for extensions (when applicable)
• Ensuring that the contractual irregularities are addressed
• Attending to and escalating concerns/queries (when applicable)
• Assisting with planning, scheduling, and setting up the project
• Assisting with the procurement of material. Ordering supplies, plant, and tool hire
• Ensuring that the sub-contractors are appointed correctly.
• Communicating regarding project progress to the Project Leader
• Communicating with Suppliers, consultants, and principal agents
• Assisting in drafting letters of extension request
• Communicating the content of site visit reports to contractors
• Escalating queries and problems
• Submitting written monthly reports to funders and Company
• Discuss and formulate action plans pertaining to execution of projects.
• Discuss the financial status of the project with the contractor.
• Ensuring monthly reports issued by the Administrators is signed by contractor.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying
• 3 – 4 years’ experience in a QS role within the Construction Support industry
• Valid Drivers’ Licence
• Willing to travel
• RIB Candy software experience
