Quantity Surveyor

Introduction

Our client, a construction company, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with at least 1 year of relevant experience who is looking to develop their skills and grow their career within the construction industry.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documentation.
  • Measure and quantify materials, labour, and other construction requirements.
  • Assist with the preparation and monitoring of project budgets and costs.
  • Obtain and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations.
  • Assist with the preparation of progress claims, valuations, and payment certificates.
  • Monitor project expenditure and assist with cost control.
  • Maintain accurate records of project costs, variations, and related documentation.
  • Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, site teams, and project managers.
  • Assist with general quantity surveying and commercial administration duties.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a quantity surveying role within the construction industry.
  • BSC QS.
  • Basic understanding of construction methods, materials, and costing principles.
  • Good numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer applications.
  • Experience with quantity surveying software will be an advantage.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and develop professionally

Package & Remuneration

R30 000 CTC to R38 500 CTC per month based on experience and qualifications
