Description

Post Contract Commercial Lead for larger value projects which include the management of junior commercial team.



Responsibilities

Functional Roles and Responsibilities

  • Assessment of the tender BOQ (Bill Of Quantities) vs the IFC (Issued For Construction) information received to update the BOQ accordingly.
  • Float enquiries for obtaining final offers from supply chain and adjudicate updated quotations received.
  • Prepare sub-contract orders and purchase orders; including drawings, Programme & BOQ’s. 
  • Detect Variations and Changes to the Contract in liaison with the Project team.
  • Prepare, Negotiate and Conclude Variations and Claims with Sub Contractors and Clients’.
  • Prepare monthly project valuation and to ensure timely submittal to the employer
  • Procure all necessary insurances and bonds for the project. 
  • Review and issue monthly payment certificates to subcontractors based upon the progress of works at site.
  • General Contract administration including the drafting of contractual notices, such as notice of delay, variations & claims.
  • Identify, collate, review, and submit variations to the Employer. 
  • Preparation of claims for extensions of time in the event of project delays including maintaining sufficient contemporary records.
  • Undertake monthly cost reporting in collaboration with the project manager inclusive of all necessary budget forecasts.
  • Prepare and conclude the subcontract and Employer final accounts upon project completion. 
  • Conclude all commercial matters that may arise during the defects liability period (DLP) ; including defects rectification, return of bonds & final retention releases.
  • Ability to assist in the estimation of potential projects in the event the estimation department is at full capacity.

People Management Roles and Responsibilities

  • Guide and motivate subordinates to enhance performance and produce quality work, and ensure that they are continuously developed for higher level roles


Qualifications

Education/Certification and Continued Education

  • Graduate in construction discipline or equivalent.

Years of Experience

  • 7 to 10 years relevant experience with a minimum of 7 year experience in post contract Quantity Surveying 

Knowledge and Skills

  • Local market knowledge would be an advantage
