Our client is an established quantity surveying practice based in Gauteng, with a strong focus on commercial and retail projects. They are urgently seeking an experienced Professional Quantity Surveyor (PQS) or Quantity Surveyor working towards professional registration to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong QS with a solid professional quantity surveying consultancy background who is looking to take ownership of commercial and retail projects within a collaborative, office-based environment.
Requirements:
- Professionally registered as a PQS, or actively working towards professional registration
- Education: BSc/ BSc Hons in Quantity Surveying or a related qualification
- Proven experience within a professional quantity surveying consultancy
- Strong commercial and/or retail project experience
- Proficiency in WinQS and DimX is essential
- Strong knowledge of quantity surveying principles, measurement and cost management
- Excellent attention to detail and numerical ability
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Willingness to work full-time from the company's offices
Responsibilities:
- Manage quantity surveying functions across commercial and retail projects
- Prepare and review cost estimates, budgets and tender documentation
- Undertake measurements and prepare bills of quantities
- Conduct tender evaluations and assist with contractor appointments
- Manage valuations, payment certificates, variations and final accounts
- Monitor project costs and provide accurate financial reporting
- Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants and other project stakeholders
- Provide professional quantity surveying advice throughout the project lifecycle
- Assist with project management and cost-control requirements
- Ensure all QS documentation and reporting is accurate and maintained to a high standard
