Quantity Surveyor

To support the Senior Quantity Surveyor and project team by assisting with cost control, tendering, measurements, and contract administration across construction projects. This role includes both site work and office-based responsibilities.

Description:
Pre-Contract (Tender Stage)

• Assist with preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQs) from architectural and engineering drawings.
• Compile tender documents, request and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Assist with cost estimating, preliminary costing, and feasibility analysis.
• Participate in tender evaluations and preparation of tender submissions.

Post-Contract (Construction Stage)

• Conduct site measurements and verify completed work against drawings and specifications.
• Assist with preparing interim and final payment certificates.
• Support with variation orders, claims, and re-measurement.
• Monitor project expenditures and compare actual costs vs budget.
• Update cost reports, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
• Assist with contract administration under JBCC / NEC / FIDIC or other construction contracts.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including measurement sheets, correspondence, and commercial files.
• Liaise with site management, engineers, contractors, and suppliers.

Requirements:

• Grade 12 / Matric.
• Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
• 1–3 years experience in the construction industry (building, civil, residential or commercial).
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and exposure to QS software (WinQS, CCS Candy, CostX, or similar).
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Valid driver’s license and own transport (advantageous for site visits).
• Professional, reliable, and eager to grow within the construction QS field.
