Due to continued growth the position of Quantity Surveyor has
become available to join our successful team based in the West
Midlands
.

Costain is working closely with Severn Trent Water on their
Capital Delivery Framework, as part of its c£2 billion capital programme. As
part of the Design and Build Framework lot, Costain brings together its design,
construction, and consultancy expertise to undertake renewal and refurbishment
projects and will assist Severn Trent in its target to make continuous
improvements to its safety performance, whilst ensuring continuity of supply
and consequently lowering costs for its customers.

The role of a Quantity Surveyor is to provide commercial
support on projects to ensure that it is procured, delivered within budget and
to the highest quality whilst exceeding our customers' expectations. 
You will need to display good commercial acumen,
motivation and a proactive nature to support efficient delivery of the project
and commercial control to optimise the financial success of the project.

This position has a competitive salary dependent on skills
and experience, in addition to a fantastic benefits package including pension
contribution matched up to 10%.

Role
Requirements

Enrolled and working towards Full Membership of either RICS or CICES
Experience of NEC form of Contract
Increasing knowledge of a variety of forms & options of contracts
Water sector experience
Have an understanding or experience of business systems, spreadsheet development, cost analysis, programme evaluation and development, compensation event and/or variations assessment and evaluation
Have experience or appreciation of the risk management process for both schedule and cost and the use of Earned Value Management
