Introduction

Our client a well-established Structural Steel Engineering company based in Polokwane, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join their team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, managing project costs, preparing tender documentation, and ensuring that projects are completed within budget while maintaining profitability.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and project budgets for structural steel projects.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
  • Measure quantities from drawings and compile accurate pricing.
  • Obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Prepare and submit competitive tenders and quotations.
  • Monitor project costs and prepare regular cost reports.
  • Manage variations, claims, and contract administration.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • National Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying.
  • 2–5 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor.
  • Previous experience within the Structural Steel, Steel Fabrication, Construction, or Engineering industry an advantage.
  • Experience compiling tenders and estimating project costs.
  • Experience using estimating and quantity surveying software will be advantageous.
  • Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites when required.
