Hire Resolve's Client are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented
Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects, from pre-construction stages to project completion. You will play a key role in ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Estimation & Budgeting:
- Prepare and analyze cost estimates for construction projects.
- Develop and maintain project budgets, ensuring financial control is maintained throughout.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost planning to provide cost-effective solutions to clients.
Contract Administration:
- Assist in the preparation and negotiation of contracts and subcontracts.
- Monitor and report on contract performance, ensuring compliance with terms.
- Manage variations, claims, and disputes, providing expert advice on resolving contractual issues.
Quantity Take-Off & Material Measurement:
- Perform accurate quantity take-offs from construction drawings and plans.
- Ensure all materials and labor costs are accurately quantified and tracked.
- Measure and assess site quantities during the construction phase to ensure progress aligns with the budget.
Procurement Management:
- Prepare tender documents, including Bill of Quantities (BoQ) and tender specifications.
- Review and evaluate tenders from contractors and suppliers, assisting in the selection process.
- Advise on procurement strategies to ensure the timely acquisition of materials and services.
Cost Control & Reporting:
- Monitor and track project costs, ensuring all expenditures are within budget.
- Prepare regular cost reports for clients and stakeholders.
- Analyze and report on any deviations from the budget, providing corrective actions as necessary.
Site Visits & Coordination:
- Conduct regular site visits to ensure work is being completed according to specifications and on time.
- Liaise with project managers, contractors, and clients to resolve any issues related to costs or quantities.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental policies on site.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential financial risks and recommend strategies to mitigate them.
- Provide input on risk management practices and ensure projects adhere to legal and regulatory standards.
Client Liaison & Stakeholder Management:
- Maintain effective communication with clients, ensuring they are updated on cost and project progress.
- Collaborate with the project team to ensure client expectations are met in terms of cost, quality, and timeline.
