Requirements:
  • Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects, considering materials, labor, and overhead costs.
  • Budget Management: Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and provide regular financial reports to ensure that projects stay within budget constraints.
  • Tendering: Coordinate and manage the tendering process, including reviewing and analyzing bids, negotiating with contractors, and making recommendations for contract awards.
  • Contract Administration: Oversee contractual agreements, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions. Address variations and change orders promptly.
  • Risk Analysis: Identify potential risks in projects and develop strategies to mitigate them. Provide insights into cost implications and alternative solutions.
  • Value Engineering: Collaborate with project teams to explore cost-effective alternatives without compromising quality and functionality.
  • Quantity Take-offs: Conduct accurate quantity take-offs from project drawings and specifications.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Architects, Engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and project success.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry.
  • Professional membership with SACQSP is an advantage.
  • Proficient in cost estimation software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
