Quantity Surveyor

Magdalene is on the lookout for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our central commercial team based at a local Magdalene office in the UK.

You will:

• Broad knowledge of Magdalene’s Core Policies and Procedures that impact the way we operate

• Provide quality customer service to all internal and external stakeholders


• Support the commercial and contractual management of Projects across the commercial portfolio


• Support the development and updating of process and procedures associated with the role


• Responsible for reporting information across the projects


• Assists Senior Team in managing specific projects assigned to the individual in support of the function


• Maximise opportunities to apply process improvement and best practice methodologies (where appropriate) to improve process efficiency


• Design and monitor appropriate metrics to ensure effective performance and continuous improvement in the work of the team


• Manage and build excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Specialist Accountabilities:

• Supporting the creation of contract data, tender costs, resources, and programmes submitted


• Supporting the project team and senior commercial management with scope information, mini-tenders and contract creation


• Ensuring contract compliance, through effective contract management activities


• Supporting the senior commercial management team in producing all necessary contract instructions and communications


• Collating and report on costs, ensuring reviews and robust challenges of the Value and Actual costs


• Meeting with Operations regularly to review and monitor progress in order to verify costs, compensation events and identify early warnings


• Assisting and monitoring appropriate risk mitigation methodologies


• Providing detailed cost assurance reports demonstrating delivery of or out performance of the project baseline


• Maintaining accurate Value and cost data records
