Introduction

About the Role

CSP Construction is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to take full responsibility for project costing, tendering, and financial control of construction projects.

This role requires a commercially minded individual who can manage costs from tender stage through to final account, ensuring projects are delivered within budget while maintaining profitability.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Tendering & Procurement

  • Compile and submit competitive tenders
  • Source and evaluate subcontractor pricing
  • Work with internal teams to ensure accurate project specifications and costing

Cost Management & Commercial Control

  • Manage project costs throughout the lifecycle
  • Monitor profitability and identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Prepare monthly cost reports and forecasts
  • Ensure positive cash flow through accurate interim claims

Contract & Subcontractor Management

  • Appoint subcontractors in line with budget and project requirements
  • Ensure all contracts (JBCC) are in place and compliant
  • Manage and communicate contract terms to project teams

Variations & Financial Administration

  • Cost and manage all contract variations
  • Track and document all changes and site instructions
  • Compile final accounts and ensure project close-out

Project Oversight

  • Conduct regular site visits to verify work completed
  • Approve subcontractor payments based on progress
  • Monitor guarantees, completion timelines, and project milestones

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • BTech / BSc in Quantity Surveying
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor
  • Experience in construction cost management and site exposure
  • Knowledge of various forms of building contracts e.g. JBCC, NEC, FIDIC, GCC (essential)
  • Proficient in Excel and MS Office (MS Projects advantageous)
  • Experience with Candy / BuildSmart 
  • Own Transport
