Quantity Surveyor - Consultancy

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established, multidisciplinary consultancy operating across New Zealand.

This is a senior-level role working closely with Directors, offering a clear pathway into leadership and long-term career progression. You will play a key role in delivering complex remediation, renewal, and defect-driven projects where risk management, cost certainty, and clear communication are critical to success.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead cost management and commercial oversight across remediation and building renewal projects
• Undertake construction observation, site attendance, and manage project variations
• Prepare monthly cost-to-complete forecasts and financial reports
• Administer contracts, including claim preparation and assessment
• Produce clear, accurate, and professional client reports
• Identify and proactively communicate project risks
• Support the growth of the Quantity Surveying team, including mentoring and recruitment
• Contribute to fee proposals and broader business initiatives

About You

• Proven experience operating at a senior level as a Quantity Surveyor
• Strong background in remediation, renewal, or complex existing-building projects
• Highly capable in contract administration and financial reporting
• Confident communicator with strong client-facing experience
• Membership of NZIQS and/or RICS (or working towards)
• Project management capability is advantageous but not essential
• Demonstrated interest in leadership and long-term career development
