Quantity Surveying Degree Apprenticeship Programme 


Murphy are recruiting apprentice Quantity Surveyors with strong aspirations to build a career within the civil engineering & construction sector. With positions based in various locations across the UK, we are looking for highly driven individuals with a keen eye for detail and willingness to learn & develop in a fast-paced environment. 


 


Our degree apprenticeship programme offers you the chance to secure a university degree debt-free, whilst gaining invaluable on-the-job experience. Your tuition fees for this degree will be paid for by Murphy and you’ll also be earning a competitive apprenticeship salary.   


 


Working in this role you will learn how to manage all costs relating to construction and civil engineering projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures. You will learn how to optimise the cost of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality. Your responsibilities will increase throughout the duration of the apprenticeship programme as your skills and technical knowledge develop. You will be supported throughout by your assigned workplace mentor, in conjunction with your university apprenticeship tutor, to ensure you gain the right mix of skills and experience to successfully complete your apprenticeship. 

 


What qualification will I receive through the apprenticeship?  


As part of this apprenticeship, you will follow the Chartered Surveyor Degree Level 6 apprenticeship standard which takes 5.5 years to complete with one our partner universities. Apprentices will be required to complete a Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) accredited BSc/BSc(Honours).  


 


Where will I be based on the apprenticeship?  


We are recruiting for this apprenticeship across various projects across the UK. Due to the remote locations of some of our sites, applicants must be willing to travel as required. Due to the nature of our work and size of our sites, we may require you to have a full clean UK driving licence. 


 


What do I need to be considered for the apprenticeship? 



  • GCSE Maths and English at grade A*- C / 4-9 (or equivalent) 


You must also have attained or have attained by September 25, 96 UCAS tariff points or equivalent from one of the following: 



  • 3 A Levels grade A*-C 

  • BTEC Diploma or BTEC Extended Diploma 

  • Level 3 advanced apprenticeship 

  • T Level Design, Surveying and Planning for Construction

  • You don’t need to have previous experience for the role, but you do need to be ready to learn, have a positive mindset and a can-do attitude! 

  • Eligible to work in the UK with a valid work permit if applicable. Please note, that we do not provide sponsorship.

Our Recruitment Process


Our recruitment process consists of three stages:

  2. Online interactive exercise

  3. In-person assessment centre (which start from February 25)
