We deliver on-street community EV charging, working with local authorities to support residents unable to charge their vehicle at home. We also install future-proof EV charging infrastructure at workplaces, retail destinations, car parks, commercial real estate and for residential developers.

We're seeking a talented Quantity Surveyor who can seamlessly manage multiple projects while skillfully prioritising tasks to ensure everything stays on course. In this role you will work closely with our Sales, Bid, Delivery and Operations teams across all phases of project lifecycles. You will play a key role in making sure our project pricing is commercially viable.

The role requires a fine balance between commerciality and stakeholder management.

You will have the opportunity to work in one of the fastest growing and most exciting industries, playing a pivotal role in shaping the deployment and management of our charging infrastructure to help ensure a successful transition to EVs in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities and tender submission documents.
  • Finalise accompanying contractual documents, including pricing schedules and bills of quantities.
  • Prepare cost estimates for potential opportunities and provide quotations for customers and clients.
  • Assess completed work, manage variations, and lead the resolution of disputes.
  • Review and approve subcontractor quotations and payments.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project milestones are achieved within budget.
  • Act as a liaison between bid managers, project delivery managers, and finance.
  • Support project delivery managers in monitoring and controlling costs, managing changes, and adjusting budget projections throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage project budgets, including forecasting and monitoring costs.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of all project-related costs and financial transactions.
  • Understand client requirements and quantities take off as per marking and drawings.
  • Prepare BOQ (bill of quantities) by studying specification sheets.
  • Monitor and control costs throughout the project, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Prepare the initial quote and contract for the sales team from the company’s side.
  • Manage the valuation of work done and handle claims and variations.
  • Prepare interim and final valuations, variations and claims of the project site.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to optimise project outcomes and achieve value for money!
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices and emerging technologies related to quantity surveying and infrastructure development.


Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a quantity surveying or cost consultant is essential
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Exceptional skills in connecting with others and fostering meaningful relationships
  • Proficiency in cost estimation and cost management techniques
  • Familiarity with contract administration and legal aspects of project management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with extraordinary negotiation abilities
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and environmental standards
  • Diligence and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
  • Strong project management skills and able to work under pressure
  • Strong Microsoft suite skills, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Strong track record of working collaboratively across functions, demonstrating the ability to engage and influence key stakeholders
  • Experience working in a SME and or start-up environment is a plus
  • Previous experience in utilities or infrastructure sectors would be advantageous
