We are hiring Quantity Surveyor - Manager for a leading Construction Company
Overview:
The Quantity Surveyor - Manager plays a crucial role in managing all aspects of quantity surveying in the construction industry in Nungambakkam. This role is essential for ensuring accurate cost estimation, budgeting, and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee cost estimation and budgeting for construction projects
- Manage and lead a team of quantity surveyors
- Prepare tender and contract documents
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk management
- Monitor and control project costs
- Provide advice on contractual claims and disputes
- Perform cost analysis and value engineering
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers
- Review and validate invoices and payment applications
- Participate in project procurement and contract negotiations
- Update and maintain cost databases and cost control systems
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
- Contribute to the development of best practices and process improvement
- Conduct regular site visits and inspections
- Prepare and present reports to management and stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field
- Professional certification such as MRICS or equivalent
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in quantity surveying, with at least 3 years in a managerial role
- Expert knowledge of construction contracts and procurement
- Proven track record in cost estimation and budget preparation
- Strong understanding of project management principles
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and negotiation abilities
- Proficient in relevant software and tools for quantity surveying
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Experience in leading and developing a team of quantity surveyors
- Thorough understanding of construction laws and regulations
- Ability to travel to project sites as needed
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proactive attitude and ability to drive results
Candidates should have experience in Contracts and Labour Bill Certification.
