Our client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in SMP (Structural, Mechanical and Piping), Electrical, Control and Instrumentation (EC&I), and heavy industrial projects. This opportunity is suited to a commercially astute professional with experience in the mining, oil and gas or petrochemical sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage project costs, budgets and financial reporting across industrial and engineering projects.
- Prepare and review estimates, bills of quantities and tender documentation.
- Monitor project expenditure, cash flow and cost forecasts.
- Assess variations, claims and contractual changes.
- Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Support procurement, tender adjudication and commercial negotiations.
- Track project progress and assess costs against approved budgets.
- Prepare payment assessments, cost reports and final accounts.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors and commercial teams.
- Ensure accurate cost control and contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements:
- BSc degree in Quantity Surveying.
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience.
- Experience in mining, SMP, EC&I or heavy industrial projects.
- Exposure to oil and gas or petrochemical environments.
- Strong understanding of construction and engineering project cost management.
- Experience with estimates, variations, claims, procurement and financial reporting.
- Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management abilities.
