Job Description

The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for preparing and managing quantity take-offs. The role combines traditional quantity surveying responsibilities with BIM coordination and data management tasks to enhance the accuracy, efficiency, and integration of cost-related information within the digital project environment.

The position requires close collaboration with Design and Construction teams in a multidisciplinary and high-demand environment.

Main BIM uses in the project: Capture of existing conditions, Design coordination and Clash detection, Produce Construction Documentation (including CAD), Generate Estimates QTO, Modeling of Temporary Works, Modeling of Construction Site Logistics, Construction Sequence and analysis, Construction progress tracking, Field BIM, As-built documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quantity take-offs and cost estimation directly from BIM models and drawings.
  • Verify and validate model-based quantities against design and construction documentation.
  • Support cost planning and budget tracking using BIM-integrated data.
  • Coordinate with the BIM team to ensure model accuracy and alignment with quantity and cost requirements.
  • Review and provide feedback on federated models regarding quantities, constructability, and coordination issues.
  • Collaborate with engineering disciplines to resolve discrepancies between drawings, models, and bills of quantities.
  • Participate in clash detection meetings and assess their impact on cost and quantities.
  • Produce reports, dashboards, and visualizations (Power BI or similar) related to quantities, cost progress, and model integrity.
  • Support As-Built documentation and final quantity reconciliation based on updated models.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Demostrated advanced knowledge and experience of modeling and drafting with Autodesk AEC Collection (Revit, Civil 3D, Navisworks…)
  • Proficiency in model-based quantity extraction with Autodesk Assemble systems
  • Knowledge of Autodesk ACC – Docs, Design Collaborate, Assemble
  • Familiarity with OpenBIM standards (IFC, COBie) and data interoperability.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with attention to detail.
  • Experience using Power BI or other data visualization tools (valuable).
  • Knowledge of Dynamo or other coding skills (valuable)
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills across technical and commercial teams.
  • Self motivated, solution driven, pragmatic individual.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in cost estimation, quantity take-offs, or project controls.
  • Experience in BIM-based quantity surveying or model-based estimating is highly valuable.
  • Familiarity with large-scale infrastructure projects (rail or tunnel experience preferred).
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Revit and Navisworks for QTO and coordination purposes.

The compensation package for this role may include an annual base salary between $80,000 and $90,000, benefits coverage, RSP matching contribution, eligibility to participate in company's global share program, and paid vacation time depending on education and relevant work experience.
