About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Manager to join our QLD/SA Commercial team, supporting the delivery of Carmody’s Hill Wind Farm.

Carmody’s Hill is a 256MW utility-scale wind farm located in South Australia’s Mid North region, approximately 180km north of Adelaide. The project comprises 42 wind turbines and is expected to commence operations in late 2028.

Based in Brisbane, you will report to the Project Director with a functional reporting line to the BU Senior Commercial Manager. You will provide senior commercial leadership across the project, managing commercial, financial and contractual matters while working closely with the project delivery team to support successful and profitable project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the commercial management, contract administration and financial control of the project, ensuring commercial strategies align with project objectives and delivery requirements.
  • Manage project change control, including the identification, preparation, negotiation and resolution of variations, claims, EOTs and disputes with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Lead the review, drafting and negotiation of downstream contracts, including key subcontract and supplier agreements, through to award and effective commercial handover.
  • Monitor project cash flow, cost forecasting, budget movements and margin, providing accurate commercial reporting and early visibility of risks to the Project Director and BU Commercial Manager.
  • Provide commercial leadership, mentoring and guidance to Project Managers and delivery teams while building strong client, subcontractor and supplier relationships.

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Law, Business or a related discipline.
  • 5–7 years’ experience in a commercial management role, with demonstrated experience in project-based commercial delivery.
  • Proven experience managing construction contracts, commercial claims, variations, disputes and financial performance.
  • Strong commercial acumen, negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Proven leadership capability, with experience coaching, mentoring and developing commercial and project teams.
