The Ideal Candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or a related field. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Experience in federally funded multi billion dollar capital construction projects, programs, and/or portfolios.
  • At least 15 years experience in the Construction Industry.
  • At least 5 years of experience working with NJT, MNRR, LIRR, NYCT, PANYNJ, MTA
  • Experience within heavy civils programs/projects, including tunnelling

We are hiring an ambitious and forward-thinking Senior Commercial Manager  - to join our established and growing team in New York.

  • You will direct preparation of contract documents, warranties, bonds and licenses to achieve formal execution by appropriate parties.  

  • You will proactively identify costing associated with design changes, contract awards, construction activities and client charges, and present these to clients.

  • You will lead Cost Consultants to identify and execute opportunities that improve cost management procedures, templates and products to enhance services provided to stakeholders. 

 

You'll be responsible for:

• Developing and implementing commercial strategies for large-scale projects and programs, ensuring alignment with overall project objectives, timelines, and budgetary constraints while maximizing value for the organization.

• Leading contract negotiations and change management processes with clients, contractors, and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle, safeguarding the organization's interests and maintaining positive stakeholder relationships.

• Overseeing the commercial aspects of project/program delivery, including budget management, cost control, revenue forecasting, and cash flow optimization to ensure financial viability and profitability of projects.

• Collaborating with project managers, technical teams, and other stakeholders to identify and mitigate commercial risks, resolve disputes, and develop solutions for complex commercial issues that arise during project execution.

• Managing a team of commercial professionals within the project/program environment, providing mentorship, guidance, and performance management to ensure effective commercial support across all project phases.

• Conducting regular commercial performance reviews of ongoing projects/programs, analyzing key metrics, identifying trends, and recommending strategic adjustments to improve overall project commercial outcomes.

You’ll need to have: 

    • Minimum of OSHA 30 training   

    • Experience with FTA projects in the North Eastern corridor within the United States

    •  

       Proven experience in reporting, data analysis, and presentation development.

      ·         Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Suite, MS Project, Primavera P6 Scheduling Software).

      ·         Excellent oral and written communication skills.

      ·         Experience in managing relationships with key stakeholders.

You’ll also have: 

 

  • NJT, MNRR, LIRR, NYCT, PANYNJ, and MTA experience are preferred.
