Your Role
As a Senior Estimator / Quantity Surveyor, you will support our Australia-based estimating team by preparing accurate cost estimates, performing quantity take-offs, and supporting project tendering activities.
Specifically, you will:
- Perform detailed and accurate quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications for mechanical (piping) projects.
- Analyse project documentation, including plans, specifications, schedules, and subcontractor or supplier pricing.
- Collaborate with the Australia-based estimating team to meet strict tender deadlines and assist in preparing tender submissions.
- Prepare detailed bills of materials for project teams while maintaining and updating cost databases and historical pricing records.
- Identify operational risks, cost-saving opportunities, and value engineering solutions to improve project outcomes.
What You Need
Non-negotiables
- Proven experience as an Estimator or Quantity Surveyor within the mechanical construction industry.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and piping installations.
- High proficiency in CostX (including Revit capabilities) and Bluebeam.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and analytical problem-solving abilities.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Experience collaborating with international teams.
Preferred Skills/Expertise
- Experience supporting Australian construction or mechanical contracting projects, with knowledge of Australian standards.
- Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Experience using Power BI, Microsoft Access, and other data analytics tools.
- Background or foundational knowledge in mechanical engineering.
