If this sounds like you, a leading specialist in bespoke joinery subcontracting is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager to join their growing team. This is a high-impact role with real ownership, working closely with Tier 1 contractors on prestigious UK-wide projects.

What’s the role about?
You’ll play a pivotal role in the commercial success of projects, overseeing contract management, financial performance, and client relationships.

Key responsibilities:

  • Administer and manage contracts (NEC, JCT or similar), including variations, extensions, and formal correspondence with Tier 1 contractors
  • Prepare, review, and submit accurate applications for payment in line with contractual terms
  • Monitor and report on project budgets, cashflow, and overall financial performance to senior leadership
  • Lead credit control processes, ensuring timely client payments and managing outstanding balances
  • Support project teams with cost analysis, risk management, and commercial decision-making
  • Provide commercial input during tenders and subcontractor negotiations
  • Maintain accurate commercial records and documentation to support financial and contractual compliance
  • Liaise effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to safeguard commercial interests



Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Commercial Manager/Quantity Surveyor
  • Background in joinery, fit-out, or construction subcontracting
  • Strong contract knowledge (NEC, JCT) and commercial acumen
  • Skilled in payment applications, cashflow, and financial reporting
  • Confident communicator with excellent negotiation skills
  • Able to manage multiple projects and work independently
