Kingsley Consulting are working with a highly respected and profitable Contracting Group to identify an experienced Commercial Manager with a strong, proven background within the Construction Industry.
 
Salary: £85,000 
Benefits:  Bonus, Pension, Car
Location:  Hybrid (with regular travel to Project locations within London, Sussex Kent and Surrey )    
 
Role Overview
The candidate will be required to develop a close working relationship with the project teams, internal stakeholders and Clients’ representatives ensuring that all commercial aspects are carried out in accordance with the contract, company policies and procedures, and to the satisfaction of the customer and the internal senior management team. The Candidate should be able to demonstrate excellent technical qualities for the role. The role will provide the opportunity for the engagement on multiple projects from tender preparation and negotiation right through to delivery and completion.      
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce draft budgets and site start budgets.
  • Produce quarterly valuations and complete material ‘cost to complete’ exercises for each Project.
  • Produce sub-contract payments and final accounts, ensuring that the sub-contractor has signed these off.
  • Produce sub-contract orders, ensuring they are authorised by the authorised representative, together with all necessary documentation to comply with Group Commercial Policy.
  • Complete on-site measurements and assess payments to contractors.
  • Attend and contribute to various meetings, such as pre-order meetings, quarterly valuation meetings and project review meetings with senior management, construction team as well as external contractors.
  • Manage all sub-contract orders on site, meeting sub-contractors as and when required.
  • Responsible for managing all contract variation commercial activity
  • Assist with material buying when required.
  Experience & Skills Required 
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:
  • Experience of working on medium and large-scale construction projects, within the Construction sector
  • Can clearly demonstrate the ability to develop strong client account management skills and development of accounts.
  • Knowledge of JCT contract format
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with experience of leading meetings and negotiating contract requirements
  • Ability to present top level financial detail to senior management/board team.
  • Capable of working in a fast paced environment and ability to adapt to change
  • Demonstrate the ability to consult and understand your clients needs and match accordingly.
  • Identify revenue opportunities across the accounts and clients.
  • Strong prospecting skills and the ability to build customer relationships through consultative selling, allowing you to build long term business relationships.
  • Be a strong team player but with the ability to work on your own initiative.
