About the company

A top-tierΒ civil construction company who is known for delivering technically challenging projects. They are looking for a Commercial Manager for an interesting major infrastructure project to start in Auckland.

Duties & Responsibilities

Your responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing commercial strategies to achieve business goals and objectives.
  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities to expand the company's revenue streams.
  • Setting and monitoring sales targets and revenue goals.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key customers, suppliers, and partners.
  • Negotiating contracts with suppliers and customers to ensure profitable deals for the business.
  • Analyzing sales and marketing data to identify areas for improvement and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Managing budgets and expenses related to commercial activities.
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure commercial activities align with overall business goals.
  • Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to commercial activities.
  • Project forecasting and commercial reporting.
  • Team management of the whole commercial function of the project

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience working in the civil construction industry.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team.
  • Experience in Quantity Surveying and cost management.
  • Knowledge and experience in a variety of contract forms and engagements.
  • Ability in fiscal project management - subcontractor management, claims, variations, budgets, progress reporting.
  • Ideally, JDE system user.
