Duties & Responsibilities

Job Description

You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of a project, ensuring that client objectives are met through the delivery of a value-added cost management service. You will be involved in all phases of a facility’s lifecycle which includes:

  • Feasibility
  • Construction
  • Extension
  • Refurbishments
  • Demolition

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare cost analyses and cost plans based on architectural and engineering inputs
  • Develop tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities
  • Evaluate and negotiate tenders from contractors and subcontractors
  • Monitor project budgets, expenditures, and progress, ensuring commercial controls are maintained
  • Manage valuations, variations, interim payments, and final accounts
  • Provide commercial and contractual advice to project teams
  • Vet subcontractor tenders, certify payments, and ensure accurate reporting
  • Collaborate with project teams to meet client requirements and maintain workflow
  • Produce accurate measurements, data, and calculations
  • Support management and assist the Head of Department as needed

Desired Experience & Qualification

Qualifications

  • BSc / BTech / Diploma QS

Skills

  • Commercially astute, numerate, and risk-averse, with the ability to accurately forecast costs

  • Strong analytical skills with effective communication abilities

  • Self-motivated, energetic team player with a flexible and adaptable approach to work

  • Able to multitask and manage competing priorities efficiently

  • Strong organizational skills, including resource planning and programme scheduling

  • Capable of producing both summarized and detailed reports on current activities

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
