Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelors degree or higher in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Certification: Professional registration with the SA Council of Quantity Surveying (preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in the construction industry as a qualified Quantity Surveyor.
  • Expertise: Extensive experience in electrical installation projects, particularly within refrigeration and food-related contexts.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in creating detailed electrical circuit drawings and interpreting technical specifications.
  • Costing Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction measurement and costing principles.
  • Software Familiarity: Comfortable with industry-standard software for technical drawings and project management.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy in all aspects of work.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills, able to collaborate effectively within a team and work independently.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site surveys to gather precise measurements and technical details for accurate quotations.
  • Prepare detailed technical drawings, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
  • Develop comprehensive Bills of Materials (BoM) based on approved work.
  • Create and interpret electrical circuit drawings, optimizing cable tray placement and component layout.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and clients for efficient project execution.
  • Provide accurate cost estimates and manage project budgets effectively.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of all project-related activities and communications.
