Introduction

A leading engineering contractor delivering innovative mechanical and electrical solutions across Data Centres, Pharmaceutical, Industrial and Commercial projects throughout Europe is seeking an ambitious Junior Mechanical Quantity Surveyor.

This role provides an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors while gaining exposure to every aspect of Mechanical Building Services commercial management. You will receive structured mentoring and hands-on experience supporting the successful delivery of major engineering projects.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
• Assist with the commercial management of Mechanical Building Services projects.
• Prepare quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications.
• Support procurement of subcontractors and suppliers and assist with tender documentation.
• Measure and record project variations.
• Assist in preparing interim valuations, payment applications, monthly cost reporting and forecasting.
• Maintain commercial records and project documentation.
• Monitor subcontractor progress and applications for payment.
• Attend site meetings where required and liaise with Project Managers, Engineers and Procurement teams.
• Develop a strong understanding of commercial management within Mechanical Building Services.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Essential Requirements
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
• 1–3 years' Quantity Surveying experience.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Good understanding of construction contracts.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team with eagerness to learn and develop professionally.

Desirable Experience
• Mechanical Building Services experience.
• Experience on Data Centre or Pharmaceutical projects.
• CostX software experience.
• Previous experience supporting Mechanical subcontract packages.
