Introduction

A leading project and programme management environment is seeking an experienced Production Quantity Surveyor (Pr.QS) to join its Cape Town team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the financial and contractual management of major infrastructure and construction projects. This includes cost control, contract administration, procurement, programme support, and governance compliance.

The role requires close collaboration with programme managers, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with contractual obligations.

Duties & Responsibilities

Programme & Financial Management

  • Manage financial and contractual aspects of allocated projects
  • Develop, review, and monitor project cashflows and programmes
  • Manage procurement of contractors and professional service providers
  • Review and administer consultant and contractor appointments
  • Ensure compliance with governance and reporting requirements
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and records

 

Contract Administration

  • Administer JBCC and NEC contracts
  • Review and certify contractor payment certificates and invoices
  • Review professional service provider fee claims
  • Assess and administer:
    • Contract Instructions
    • Compensation Events
    • Extension of Time claims
    • Variations and additional fees
  • Support audit readiness and financial compliance

Desired Experience & Qualification

Qualifications

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying
  • Professional registration with SACQSP (Pr.QS)

 

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years post-registration experience
  • Strong consulting Quantity Surveying background
  • Proven experience in JBCC and NEC contract administration
  • Strong construction financial management experience
  • Programme/project environment exposure advantageous
