Introduction

An established multi-disciplinary consulting environment is seeking a registered Professional Quantity Surveyor (Pr.QS) to join its Cape Town team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive cost management and quantity surveying services across a range of construction, infrastructure, commercial, and public-sector projects. This includes cost planning, procurement, contract administration, valuations, and financial control throughout the project lifecycle.

The role requires close collaboration with architects, engineers, project managers, and other built-environment professionals to ensure successful project delivery within budget and contractual frameworks.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare preliminary and detailed cost estimates
  • Compile Bills of Quantities and contract documentation
  • Conduct tender evaluations and procurement processes
  • Manage valuations, variation orders, cost reports, and cash flow forecasts
  • Administer contractual claims and final accounts
  • Review design documentation and provide cost advice
  • Attend client, consultant, and project meetings
  • Conduct feasibility studies, damage costings, and risk assessments
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams throughout delivery

Desired Experience & Qualification

Qualifications

  • BSc or BTech Degree in Quantity Surveying
  • Professional registration as a Pr.QS

Experience

  • 4–5 years post-qualification experience
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts and cost management principles
  • Experience in consulting or project-based environments advantageous

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in WINQS and DIMX
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Valid driver’s licence
