Description

About the Role

As a QS, you will be responsible for a variety of construction projects of a commercial nature and some large apartment buildings.  You will be expected to possess and maintain an in-depth knowledge of civil and infrastructure works, residential buildings and commercial work with complex structural and services elements as typically found in commercial buildings.

Primary Function

Tendering

  • Key contact for major project tendering
  • Scoping of projects
  • Management of junior quantity surveyors
  • Obtaining and liaising with subcontractors on tendering
  • Measurement of builder trades, P&G and margin
  • Estimate of project
  • Submissions
  • Post tender client negotiations

Pre-Construction Services

  • Key contact for projects on negotiated projects
  • Attending project meetings during design
  • Performing pre-construction services including estimating, programming, staging and the like
  • Advice and research of build ability, material, and programme
  • Coordinating LTM staff for different aspects of project

Contract Management

  • Strategic involvement in projects as required
  • Project management of projects as required
  • Company representative and key contact on projects.

NOTE: this is a 12 month fixed term role, in keeping with programme commitments.



Skills And Experiences

About You - you’ll need to demonstrate

  • Relevant Tertiary Qualifications.  Preferably BSc Quantity Surveying
  • Minimum of three years as a quantity surveyor
  • Experience in construction/building/project work
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Sound commercial judgement, with ability to apply quality decisions
