Hire Resolve is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join a leading construction company in Johannesburg. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing the financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and detailed reports for various construction projects.
- Analyze project specifications and negotiate contract terms with clients and subcontractors.
- Monitor and track project expenditures and recommend cost-saving measures.
- Coordinate with project managers and engineers to assess project progress and timelines.
- Prepare payment applications and ensure accurate billing for completed work.
- Provide advice on procurement options and value engineering procedures.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and legal regulations.
- Participate in risk assessment and value management workshops.
- Manage subcontractor accounts and negotiate final settlements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
- A minimum of 4 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
- Proficient in cost management software such as CCS Candy, BuildSmart, or similar.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts and procurement practices.
- Excellent analytical, numeracy, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional registration with a relevant body (e.g., SACQSP) is desirable.
