Quantity Surveyor

A reputable company based in Cape Town is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their team.    

Key Requirements:

  • BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying
  • Registered as a Professional with the SACQSP
  • Must be a South African citizen
  • 4 years post-Pr QS registration experience
  • Analytical thinker with proven problem solving
  • Ability to manage and prioritize complex tasks
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Competency in mathematical and accounting principles
  • Reports, feasibility studies and cost analyses of processes
  • Be able and willing to mentor and guide junior quantity surveyors
  • Sound knowledge of the JBCC and other relevant building contracts
  • Sound knowledge of CIDB standards

Responsibilities:

  • Doing estimates
  • Measuring Quantities from plans to compile BOQs
  • Preparing tender documentation
  • Preparing valuations
  • Preparing variation orders
  • Attending site meetings
  • Contract Administration
  • Preparing Cost Reports
  • Measuring and agreeing on final accounts
  • Project Management
  • Quality Assurance
  • Multi-disciplinary services co-ordination
  • Team co-ordination
  • Oversee projects as needed
  • Liaising with clients and other stakeholders
