Quantity Surveyor

North Projects is a specialist advisor and consultancy to property, construction, and development projects nationally. We deliver successful project outcomes by managing cost, scope, risk, design, feasibility, and programme. We ensure that our advice is always balanced and provides a whole project perspective.

At North, we believe there is more to give to a project than simply assessing the capital cost, scope and program, administering contracts or managing contractors. Our senior team is highly experienced and will partner with our clients on their journey to deal with uncertainty and risk head on.

Our clients include State governments, company boards, financiers, developers, builders, governments, PPP Sponsors and tertiary education providers.

The opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team in our Melbourne office. Working across a range of projects, you will:

• Work with an experienced and diverse team

• Receive further training and opportunities for career development

• Undertake cost analysis and clearly communicate results with clients, architects and main contractors

• Liaise with all external parties, including clients, architects and main contractors

• Develop master plan and feasibility budgets

• Undertake cost checks of developing design

• Evaluate and analyse tender returns

• Assist with contract negotiations

• Take responsibility for procurement and cost reporting for assigned projects

• Work with the senior team across multiple projects

About you

To be successful in this role you will need to:

• Have a Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Contract Administration or Construction Management

• Be a certified quantity surveyor with AIQS or RICS

• Minimum 5-7 years’ experience within the building industry or civil construction industry

• Be able to work in a team as well as autonomously

• Confident communicator with clients and stakeholders with strong interpersonal skills

• Have an enthusiasm and passion for the built environment

• A can do attitude that focuses on solutions through innovative thinking

• Experience in Social Housing/Health/Data Centres/Education Sectors is highly desirable
