Role Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quantity Surveyor to join our team based in the Aberdeen area.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects. This includes cost estimation, budget control, procurement, contract administration, and ensuring value for money while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance. You will work closely with project managers, contractors, and clients to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

• Liaising with clients to discuss their specific job requirements and specifications to prepare an accurate quote, ranging from £500 up to £100,000
• Work closely alongside contract managers and area supervisors
• Liaise with sub-contractors ensuring an accurate quote is received if work cannot be carried out in house
• Price and invoice all trade jobs using Natfed schedule of rates
• Analyse labour and material costs to ensure our clients receive the best possible value for money
• Query any cost discrepancies for subcontractors, materials, or labour
• Prepare and provide quotes for any all-trades work including void properties
• Accurately price void works on completion using Natfed schedule of rates, including varying work order instructions to match required work
• Have regular meetings with clients to discuss any invoice variation queries
• Have regular meetings with clients to agree any variations for void works

Skills and Experience:

• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, and project cost management.
• Experience working with NATFED SOR codes, with the ability to apply them effectively to estimates, valuations, and cost reporting.
• Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
