Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working on governmental and institutional support projects, with a proven track record in procurement administration, dispute resolution, and RFP preparation and evaluation.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare comprehensive vendor shortlists and manage the RFP preparation process to ensure the selection of qualified contractors and suppliers.
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of RFP submissions, assessing proposals based on cost, quality, and compliance with project specifications.
  • Administer procurement processes, ensuring all contractual obligations are met and disputes are resolved in a timely and effective manner.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to prepare detailed cost estimates and valuations for construction projects.
  • Monitor project costs, track expenditures, and report on financial performance against budgets.
  • Provide support in dispute resolution, leveraging strong negotiation skills to resolve conflicts with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Ensure adherence to procurement best practices and compliance with relevant regulations in the industrial sector.

Required Qualifications and Experience:
 

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. (Professional qualifications or certifications, such as MRICS or equivalent, are preferred.)

Experience: 8-10 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a focus on governmental or institutional support projects in the industrial or construction sectors.

 

Skills:

  • Proficient in preparing vendor shortlists and managing the RFP process.
  • Strong expertise in procurement administration and dispute resolution.
  • Excellent valuation skills and a thorough understanding of construction contracts.
  • Strong analytical and numerical abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with international companies on large-scale projects.
  • Familiarity with local regulations and best practices in quantity surveying and procurement.
  • Knowledge of project management software and cost estimation tools.
