Quantity Surveyor

Introduction

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Quantity Surveyor in the Building Construction Industry to manage all costs relating to Building construction projects  . The successful candidate will ensure projects are completed within budget while meeting quality and regulatory standards. You will play a key role in cost planning, contract management, and financial control throughout the project lifecycle.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses
  • Monitor project costs and track variations against the budget
  • Manage procurement processes, including tendering and contractor selection
  • Evaluate and negotiate contracts with subcontractors
  • Assess and certify interim and final payments
  • Identify, analyse, and mitigate financial risks
  • Ensure compliance with legal, contractual, and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers
  • Prepare regular project financial reports and forecasts

Desired Experience & Qualification

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, NQF level 7
  • Proven experience in quantity surveying within the building construction industry
  • Proficiency in cost estimation software CCS Candy and Build Smart
  • Familiarity with standard forms of contracts of the JBCC

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional registration (SACQSP or SACPCMP)
  • Experience working on large-scale building construction projects
  • Knowledge of BIM and modern construction technologies

Working Conditions

  • Work mostly across Limpopo and Gauteng areas but not limited too.
