If you have 5–10 years of quantity surveying experience and enjoy working on construction projects where commercial accuracy, effective cost control and sound contractual knowledge are essential, this could be the next step in your career.
Minimum Requirements
- BSc or BTech degree in Quantity Surveying.
- 5–10 years of relevant quantity surveying experience within the construction industry.
- Experience in building or civil construction projects will be advantageous, depending on project requirements.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, cost control and financial reporting.
- Experience with valuations, variations, claims, subcontractor management and final accounts.
- Proficiency in CCS Candy, BuildSmart, WinQS or other relevant quantity surveying software.
- Strong numerical, analytical, negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with project managers, site teams, subcontractors and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare project budgets, cost estimates, bills of quantities and financial forecasts.
- Monitor project expenditure and ensure costs remain aligned with approved budgets.
- Manage subcontractor procurement, tender evaluations and commercial negotiations.
- Prepare and assess interim payment applications, valuations and payment certificates.
- Measure and evaluate variations, claims and changes to the scope of work.
- Administer contractual obligations and maintain accurate commercial records.
- Monitor subcontractor costs, commitments and payment processes.
- Prepare monthly cost reports and cash-flow forecasts for project management.
- Assist with the preparation, negotiation and settlement of final accounts.
- Identify commercial risks and implement effective cost-control measures.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors and internal project teams.
- Ensure that all surveying documentation is accurate and submitted within required deadlines.
