Quantity Surveyor – Cape Town
A dynamic opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor based in Cape Town, responsible for managing financial aspects of construction projects, mentoring junior QS professionals, and ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory standards. This role offers exposure to multidisciplinary expertise and potential career growth within a diverse project environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the QS department and oversee cost estimation, feasibility studies, Bills of Quantities, and rate schedules.
- Issue valuations, payment certificates, interim and final accounts, and manage financial controls for construction projects.
- Conduct financial checks against approved budgets, ensuring accurate cost tracking and contract settlements post-completion.
- Maintain and update historical cost databases and review schedules of rates for ongoing relevance.
- Monitor and provide performance feedback for contractors, sub-contractors, and suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with legal and contractual requirements.
- Manage and report budgets for construction activities, including project close-out.
- Participate in or lead project meetings related to financial and cost management.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a registered Quantity Surveyor.
- Proficiency in WinQS software; DimX experience is advantageous.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Afrikaans and English speaking
