Quantity Surveyor

Introduction

Responsible for measuring work for payment processing, submitting applications, resolving certification concerns, and ensuring adherence to company procedures.

Represents the company in variance and claims discussions and supervises Junior QSs.

Duties & Responsibilities

Job title:  Quantity Surveyor 

Sector: Construction 

  • Understand contract agreements and tender compilations.
  • Assist in construction planning, contract admin, and procurement.
  • Prepare cash flow projections.
  • Manage financial and commercial aspects of contracts.
  • Oversee subcontractor financial management.
  • Prepare cost and contract reports.
  • Ensure compliance with QS policies and best practices.
  • Supervise and develop QS staff.
  • Adhere to ISO 9001 QA System and OHS regulations.

 

Desired Experience & Qualification

National Diploma in Quantity Surveying (Minimum)
BSc in Quantity Surveying (Minimum)

Experience:
3 years in a Quantity Surveying role, ideally with experience managing multiple contracts with a contractor.

Skills:

  • Proficient in QTO, CCS Candy, BuildSmart, and advanced Excel for cost tracking, reporting, and project control.
  • Experience in at least 5 projects as a site QS, each valued at R100,000 or more.
  • Strong analytical skills, technical knowledge, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and supervisory skills.


Working hours:

  • Hours: 7:00 – 16:30
