We specialise in the implementation of complex construction projects on a national and international level for clients such as Amazon, Gazeley and Bericote and implement the projects through our offices in England, Ireland, USA and since 2018 also in Germany.

 

For our projects in Germany, in particular for the Frankfurt am Main region, we are looking for a full-time position with immediate effect

 

Quantity Surveyor / Cost Engineer (m/f/d)

Your tasks:

 

Coordination and management of internal and external project team


  • Participation in construction meetings (subcontractor and customer)

  • Contribution of the commercial aspects

  • Commissioning of subcontractors and their coordination


Cost and liquidity management


  • Preparation of the budget depending on the awarding budget

  • Preparation of cost and procurement plans in the context of the construction process (awarding unit)

  • Reporting and creation of cost reports with MS Excel and MS Word

  • Preparation of monthly CVRs (cost-value reconciliation) and cash flow forecast

  • Preparation of monthly project analyses

  • Analysing the results and compiling detailed progress reports

  • Preparation of instalment payments and final invoices


Management of subcontractors


  • Preparation and delimitation of services for the pricing of subcontractors

  • Evaluating the completed work, determining the performance status and checking the associated invoices

  • Initiating payments to suppliers, subcontractors and finalisation of the final account

  • Change order management


Preparation of award recommendations for customers


  • Preparation of price comparison lists

  • Comparison of the offers received

  • Provision of recommendations


Change order management


  • Checking change requests for completeness and their basis and amount of entitlement

  • Drafting change orders offers to the customer


Co-operation with the purchasing department


  • Providing information regarding the necessary building materials, machines and materials

  • Transmission of data relevant to the construction process (construction schedule) for targeted delivery

  • Monitoring the project budget


Contractual issues and remuneration models


  • Reviewing the customer's draft contracts (GÜ contract)

  • Drawing up contracts between TSL and subcontractors

  • Reviewing and drafting architect and planner contracts for various HOAI service phases

  • Selecting the appropriate construction model depending on the project: lump sum, unit price, open book, cost-plus-fee etc. contracts

  • Observance of the current legal regulations: VOB, BGB, FIDIC, HOAI etc.


Miscellaneous:


  • Carrying out cost analyses for repair and maintenance projects as and when required

  • Carrying out risk and value management

  • Recognising and analysing potential commercial risks and deriving strategies for prevention and avoidance

  • Observing health and safety regulations on construction sites and coordinating the health and safety officer

  • Preparation of the necessary documentation



Your profile


  • Quantity surveying or a comparable qualification with a cost management background

  • Experience in the commercial management of a major (international) project is an advantage

  • At least 3-5 years of construction site experience

  • Sound and in-depth legal knowledge of contract law, including VOB, BGB, FIDIC and Bespoke contracts

  • Independent, structured way of working as well as initiative and assertiveness

  • Strong teamwork skills, ability to work effectively even under time pressure

  • Willingness to be positioned on the construction site, and to travel as this is a construction site activity

  • English and German language skills (at least C1)

  • Work permit for Germany or citizens of an EU country is mandatory before starting
