Quantity Surveyor

Kerman Contracting is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our Head Office in Applecross. This role is pivotal in supporting the planning, costing, and coordination of high-end projects. Your accuracy and attention to detail will support smooth project delivery through precise scheduling, cost forecasting, and sub-contractor engagement.

Your Roles, Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the identification of future business opportunities
  • Document and facilitate subcontractor and supplier tender documents and distribution lists, including tender addendums or clarification notice
  • Prepare cost estimates and feasibility studies
  • Producing Bills of Quantities for all disciplines, but with a key focus on earthworks, concrete, steel and fitouts etc
  • Provide measurement of quantities in line with the Company’s contracting strategy
  • Provide analysis of quotations and pricing of works from first principles
  • Manage and facilitate the development of the preliminary design documentation process concerning tenders for design-and-construct projects to achieve the required outcomes 
  • Assist the project team with pricing variations

About You:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or Engineering
  • Equivalent combination within the construction Industry of experience, education and training
  • 5+ years’ experience in the Construction industry
  • Excellent Excel & familiarity with various estimating packages
  • Superior attention to detail and excellent communication skills
  • Membership in an approved Professional Body (eg. AIQS, RICS, CIOB) is highly desirable
