Introduction

We are seeking an experienced Quality Surveyor / Estimator with strong Quantity Surveying, estimating, cost-control and practical Quality Control (QC) experience to join a project in Secunda, Mpumalanga.

The ideal candidate must have experience in an industrial, mining, petrochemical or Sasol project environment, with the ability to support projects from tender preparation through execution and final close-out.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs), measurements and material take-offs.
- Perform tender pricing, estimating, costing and scope preparation.
- Manage payment certificates, variations, claims, cost reports and final accounts.
- Conduct practical quality inspections and maintain quality documentation.
- Prepare and manage Quality Control Plans (QCPs), Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), snagging lists and quality data books.
- Interpret technical drawings and project specifications.
- Monitor project costs, quality compliance and progress.
- Work independently while supporting project teams throughout the project lifecycle.


 

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum Requirements

- A Quantity Surveying qualification or substantial practical Quantity Surveying experience.
- Proven experience in BOQ preparation, measurements, material take-offs, tender pricing and estimating.
- Practical experience in cost control, payment certificates, variations, claims and final accounts.
- Hands-on Quality Control experience, including inspections, QCPs, ITPs, NCRs, snagging and quality documentation/data books.
- Ability to interpret civil, structural, mechanical, piping and/or electrical drawings.
- Previous experience in an industrial, mining, petrochemical or Sasol project environment.
- Experience with Candy or equivalent estimating and cost-control software.
- Ability to work independently and support project teams from tender stage through execution and close-out.
- Willingness to be based in Secunda and travel to project sites when required.
