Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor (QS) Consultant with a minimum of 4 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in quantity surveying, with experience in cost management, contract review and project estimation. This role requires a professional with strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to work collaboratively with clients and project teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Estimation and Budgeting:
    • Prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, and equipment.
    • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Conduct cost analysis and risk management assessments to identify potential cost savings and mitigate financial risks.
  • Contract Administration:
    • Assist in the preparation and administration of contracts, including tender documents, bills of quantities, and procurement schedules.
    • Monitor and evaluate contractor performance, ensuring compliance with contract terms and conditions.
    • Manage variations, claims, and disputes, providing expert advice to resolve issues amicably and efficiently.
  • Project Management Support:
    • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to ensure accurate project planning and execution.
    • Monitor project progress, providing regular updates on cost, schedule, and financial performance.
    • Conduct site visits to verify work progress and ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
  • Valuation and Payments:
    • Prepare and submit interim valuations, final accounts, and payment certificates.
    • Ensure accurate measurement and valuation of work completed on-site, in accordance with contract requirements.
    • Liaise with clients and contractors to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to payments and valuations.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
    • Prepare detailed reports, including cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and project performance evaluations.
    • Maintain organized and up-to-date project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and financial records.
    • Provide clear and concise communication to clients and project stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably within the construction or infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, cost management, and project estimation.
  • Proficiency in quantity surveying software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Excel, CostX).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of local construction regulations and standards is preferred.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working on projects in India or with Indian clients is highly preferred.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., RICS, AIQS) are an advantage.
  • Familiarity with FIDIC contracts and international construction standards is beneficial.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
