Our client is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their civil engineering and construction team. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned commercial professional to take ownership of the financial and contractual performance of major infrastructure projects while working closely with operational teams to maximise project profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the commercial, contractual, and financial aspects of projects from commencement through to final account.
- Prepare and monitor project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports.
- Administer contracts and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Manage subcontractor procurement, appointments, valuations, and final accounts.
- Prepare client valuations, payment applications, and commercial reports.
- Monitor project cash flow and implement strategies to optimise financial performance.
- Track Actual vs. Allowable costs using CCS (Candy) and Buildsmart.
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities and implement corrective actions.
- Work closely with project managers and site teams to ensure sound commercial decision-making.
- Support tender reviews, procurement strategies, and continuous commercial improvement initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related qualification.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience within the civil engineering construction industry.
- Extensive experience in commercial management of civil engineering projects.
- Strong knowledge of contract administration, cost control, and subcontractor management.
- Proficiency in CCS (Candy) and Buildsmart software.
- Excellent financial analysis, reporting, and forecasting skills.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while working under pressure.
