Quantity Surveyor
  • Review new contracts and liaise with clients to understand project cost implications
  • Monitor all income/expenditure related to projects (including staff, sub-contractor, material, and equipment costs) and forecast future spend profiles
  • Provide commercial updates during project start-up and progress meetings
  • Manage the change control process for commercial activities, issuing early warning and compensation event notices as required
  • Formalize cost variations due to project delivery, produce cause-and-effect statements, and resolve claims promptly
  • Raise monthly payment applications to clients and evaluate received payment certificates
  • Collaborate with the finance department to issue invoices and track client payments
  • Assist in resolving late payments when necessary
  • Produce and present 4-weekly commercial reports for senior management on project activities
  • Serve as the main point of contact between the company and client commercial teams
  • Review final accounts for projects and issue final statements to clients
  • Maintain all commercial records in line with documentation control requirements
  • Support the sales team by providing commercial information during the tendering and pricing of new projects, as needed


  • Requirements

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of data-entry proficiency; confident in identifying and correcting errors
  • Proactive attitude, eager to learn and take on new challenges

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
  • Flexible and willing to undertake a variety of tasks

  • Ability to handle commercially sensitive or confidential information appropriately
  • Experience in construction or engineering environments
  • Previous experience working in a busy office setting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
  • Experience working with internal and external stakeholders
